About Me
I have been a bird enthusiast my entire life, learning to love identifying birds and bird songs at a young age from my father and grandmother. I returned to birdwatching with vigor during the pandemic, when social distancing and work-from-home gave me ample opportunity to hike in Great Falls National Park and along the C&O Canal.

I have pursued wildlife photography full time since retiring in March 2022, after a 35-year career as an economist. My love of wildlife and photography has taken me to wildlife areas across the country, to Costa Rica, Mexico, Portugal, Morocco and the High Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert.

I live in Bethesda, Maryland, with my wife Malathi, an oil painter and retired economist. We have two offspring who have fledged.
